Viper’s hitman Issac Ogwang got his first start as Vipers took revenge of Kenya’s giants Gor Mahia in the second fixture of the CECAFA kagame Cup at the Pele Stadium, Kigali on Monday.
Vipers beat Gor Mahia 1-0 as Ogwang started under the new manager Denis Lavagne who has seem to have fallen in love with the striker’s technique in the frontline ahead of Mulongo.
However Gusto Mulongo was later brought in to replace Ogwang and in added time he was able to fire vipers to victory and the win means that vipers progressed to the semi finals of the CECAFA Kagame Cup after beating Djibouti’s FC Garde Republicanie 3-0.
The Big question is how Ogwang is going to convince new head coach after last season failure to fall into Ivan Minart’s starting Eleven.
Ogwang joined vipers from Police FC in 2025 after half season scoring 6 goals with the Corps.
The new season is edging closer and his performance will be demanding as he enters the last year of his contract at vipers.
