Real Madrid Reach Champions League Final After Stunning Comeback

Real Madrid produced another night of Champions League magic at the Bernabéu, overturning a 2-0 deficit from the first leg to beat Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the second leg and advance to the final on aggregate.

Kylian Mbappé, returning to face his former club, was the architect of the comeback, scoring twice and creating the third goal for Vinicius Jr. in a spine-tingling performance that silenced any doubters who questioned his move to Madrid last summer.

“This club, this stadium — it does something to you,” Mbappé said after the match. “I have dreamed of nights like this since I was a child.”

PSG, who had been commanding in the first leg in Paris, never managed to recover after conceding an early goal from a Mbappé penalty in the 12th minute. The atmosphere inside the Bernabéu built to a crescendo with each Madrid goal, with the 85,000-strong crowd roaring their team on.

Madrid will now face Bayern Munich in the final, to be held in Istanbul. It will be Madrid’s record-extending 17th Champions League final, while Bayern seek to add a seventh European Cup to their collection.
