Golden State Warriors Snap 12-Game Losing Streak in Overtime Classic

The Golden State Warriors ended their worst losing streak in franchise history by defeating the Denver Nuggets 131-128 in overtime on Saturday night, with Stephen Curry scoring 51 points in a vintage display at Chase Center.

Curry hit nine three-pointers, including the crucial shot with three seconds left in regulation that forced overtime, and then sealed the game with two free throws in the final minute of the extra period.

“Steph is from another planet,” said Warriors coach Steve Kerr. “When he gets going like that, I just sit back and enjoy it like everyone else in the arena.”

The loss of Nikola Jokić to a first-quarter ankle injury hampered Denver’s chances, with the Serbian star watching the final stages of the game from the bench in street clothes. Jokić’s availability for their upcoming Eastern Conference clash remains in doubt.

The Warriors’ win lifts them out of the bottom three in the Western Conference, though their playoff hopes still hinge on a strong final stretch of the regular season. “We needed this more than anyone knows,” Curry admitted. “This is just the start.”
