Uganda’s national rally star Gorge Mike Mukula Junior has promised to deliver an epic rally performance at the 4th national rally championship at the home soil in Soroti city.
Mukula made the promise during the official ceremonial star of the fourth national rally championship at Soroti Hotel in Soroti city.
“I am so happy to be part of this championship, it’s so special to me because it’s at home and I want to promise the people Teso an epic performance because all the ancestors are with”
The championship is set to see 30 teams on 138Km (Kilometers) competitive and an All round 238 Km rally. The car checks were done which saw 35 teams being scrutinized and 30 cars passed the scrutinization.
The vice president of the national motor sports Federation, Hajji Gombe Hamid promised the people of Teso a successive champion.
He also called upon the parents to keep the children away from the road to avoid accidents and interruption of the game. “This is a very important event for the people of Teso and I want to call upon the people of Teso to come and embrace it’. It’s the politicians who have pushed this event most especially Hon. Minster Peter Ogwang, Mike Mukula and all other politicians. Vice president Hajji Gombe Hamid. He also added the rally will continue to other parts of the country with its continuation going to Gulu, Hoima then finally too Kasese.
The Resident City commissioner of Soroti city John Micheal Okurut was very impressed with the ceremonial flag off and the skills showcased by the participants ahead of the championship on Friday 24th July 2026.
“I want to call upon the people of Teso to keep away from the road because this is really a very dangerous sport” “the picture of this is very nice and exciting and so please come tomorrow and witness the game tomorrow”. RCC Okurut added. The excitement and anticipation is building ahead of the championship which starts on Saturday 24th, July 2026.
