Ateker Women football club were at home as they beat Lira city women 2-1 in the round of 32 FUFA Women cup.
The win has propelled Ateker Women to their first win of the season after five matches in the women’s elite league this season. The welcoming atmosphere at Soroti sports grounds sent great performance from their midfield and the attack that looked more stronger as their first win was anticipated sooner.
The two goals that came from Akello Faith Sharon alias Shaha and Apon Faith Sharon sent Ateker to the round of 16.
Emmanuel Opio’s coached side is in 7th position on the Victoria group of the FUFA women’s elite league, second on bottom. But only a single win can send them to the fifth position in a table of 8 teams.

On the other hand Olila failed to make their trip to Buheesi valley Park to take on Buheesi valley Women. A sign of financial struggles for Olila after suffering relegation for the Second time.
According to the newly appointed coach Aliau Peter, the financial challenges have continued to hit the team.
“Our club proprietor was not feeling well so failed to get on the road away”. Aliau stated
