Boxing in the City: Teso Ring Warriors to face Palisa Iron Fist BC

Soroti City’s based Boxing club, Teso Ring Warriors are ready to knuckle it down with Palisa Iron Fist Boxing Club on Saturday 15th August at Gerden Anest in Soroti city.

The game considered to be a friendly match is causing a lot of tension between the two boxing clubs that set to showcase the different skill in the Ring.

According to Moses Nyayo, the manager of the Soroti Ring Warriors, confirmed the match with a fight set to attract boxers from across Teso. The two boxing clubs completed their weigh-in last weekend with all boxer set for the game.

“We are set to receive Palisa but Amuria, Kalaki have confirmed to come for the game,” Moses in an interview

“Our mission is to see some of our boxers play in the Uganda Boxing championship and at the international level.

Coach Onyuu Martine also hinted on the team’s readiness ahead of Saturday with optimism on the performance.

“The team is ready, these are people we converted from Kick Boxing so they are so good,” Coach Onyuu inan interview with eritei sports. He added that out of this 12 boxer, all of them are ready to fight on that day. He was further asked to tell some of his best boxers but he refused for match management reasons.

Further noted the challenge the game of boxing is facing in the region and suggested some of the solutions to the issues affecting the game.

“the challenge which is there in the Eastern region, people look at boxing a game of thugs, so it’s difficult to get the support, but as a club we have taken all the due process to register the club so that we make it more professional and in order to remove that perception from the public,” coach Onyuu Martine Stated

“secondly we have a challenge with equipment, any of our boxers share the training kits amongst themselves, which make training and preparations less effective”

The two teams release the list of fighters which has further sent assurance to the Media of the preparedness of the both Clubs ahead of the weekend.
