The Ateker cup for district was the first brand of Ateker competitions also founded by Ateker Sports and Arts Foundation (ASAF) that started in 2021, as seen now a new brand, Ateker Cup of Nations set to kick off on Sunday 16th August.
The competition in its first edition in 2021 attracted a lot of stakeholders, fans, sponsors, and football administrators across Teso but the competition met a lot of controversies after a lot of money was reportedly realized.
Right now so many football stakeholders are asking why it seems like the first brand was dissolved, a competition to many was directly building talents in the region.
In our recent interview with the CEO ASAF expressed a lot of excitement on receiving the first team (Segutta Super Stars) of Kenya after the competition received massive attendance in Kenya in its first edition.
According to one of our sources who demanded for anonymity, he said that the competition in 2021 did not fulfill its obligations after allegedly failing to award the winning prizes.
With the competition just three days to kick off all eyes are on the new brand set to bring 48 Clubs for both Women and men across four (4) Ateker nations, the hosts Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya and South Sudan.
Soroti City is the host city for the second edition with all the branding and the media attention triggered, the public geared for the action on Sunday with Ateker run set to open the competition.
